
Horton Housing working to prevent homelessness in Harrogate
Horton Housing Association has started running a service which supports people in Harrogate who are at risk of homelessness. Harrogate STAY (Supported Tenancy at Yorkshire) aims to help people who are at risk of losing their tenancies through issues such as mental health, substance misuse, debt or problems with benefits. Support workers will go out to see people to offer them practical support, put them into contact with relevant organisations and help them get back on their feet. Harrogate STAY will support people living in Harrogate, Boroughbridge, Pateley Bridge, Ripon and Knaresborough. People can go to a drop-in session for housing advice or support or to refer themselves for extra support from Harrogate STAY. Staff can also help them apply for North Yorkshire Local Assistance Funding (NYLAF) for household items.…
