Students at Bradford primary school St Francis’ have very kindly donated 30 shoeboxes full of Christmas presents, toiletries, sweets, clothing and more to families we support.

Lucas, a pupil in Year 6, said: “I wanted to help out kids who don’t have as much luck as we do receiving presents at Christmas. In my box there are toys and warm things like hats, gloves and socks!”

The group of students, who are part of the Mini Vinnies team, love to raise money for charities all year round, according to teacher Rachel Heppleston.

“As part of our Mini Vinnies group, we like to think of fun ideas to do fundraising. When we spoke with Horton Housing, we realised it was the perfect time to donate during advent,” she said.

“We thought it would be nice for our children and their parents to get involved in. We put a list out of items we wanted to donate on social media and then received some great things.”

The boxes have been donated to families at one of our short-term accommodation services in Bradford.

Horton Housing Association would like to thank the students, parents and staff of St Francis’ and we look forward to working together again in the future.
