I started my career 15 years ago, working in advice services in Bradford, and continue to live in the district. I am now senior manager within a general needs housing association in Greater Manchester with a specialism in tenancy support. As well as having a busy family life, I love music- particularly attending live events and as part of a choir; football; I am an avid reader and book club member; and have a keen interest in current affairs and supporting the local community.
I am passionate about people, both people in services and colleagues, and keep them at the heart of all decision-making. I thrive when leading through change and wanted to help embed an inclusive culture throughout the business. The key thing about Horton is the amazing people. Horton makes a difference to lives every day; breaking down barriers and driving social mobility. It is so much more than just housing, something which aligns to my own core values and beliefs.
My career both in the charity and housing sectors, leading services supporting communities facing many of the issues that Horton’s residents and service users do, has allowed me to gain a key insight into the challenges they face. I have significant knowledge around housing sector specific legalities and regulations, and significant experience of delivering a culture of quality and systemic change with a key focus on improving people’s service experience through a dynamic, strategic approach. I am future focused, seeing the big picture with a keen interest in the external issues effecting the sector, meaning I can assist to ensure that the organisation is well prepared to respond to challenges.

I enjoy being able to add value through setting strategic direction, and working with Horton has given me the opportunity to develop my own governance skills. Most importantly though, is being able to us my skills, knowledge and experience to help on the journey to create a society where everyone has the best possible quality of life.
