Board profile: James Hogarth

I wanted to become a Board Member as I thought my experience working for various housing associations over the previous decade would enable me to offer some help and support to Chartford Housing in order to deliver for those who require their services.

I have worked in the world of housing associations for the past ten years or so and have found it both fascinating and rewarding. Prior to this, I worked for the Archdiocese of Liverpool in their property department and was able to work with some amazing people and properties.

I have always had a real passion for property development particularly since I joined my first housing association (First Choice Homes Oldham) in 2012. Being part of a team that delivers homes in areas where private/profit-making businesses would not usually deliver is very rewarding as it can act as a kick start for regeneration in an area whilst delivering new homes for those who require them.

I hope to offer knowledge, enthusiasm and challenge to the team so that we are able to bring forward some excellent development opportunities and if there are opportunities to promote the good work that Chartford Housing do through my day job then that would be brilliant.

Through this role, I hope to help those who are in need of the services that Chartford and Horton Housing provide to the people of Bradford. I also hope to meet many interesting people in order to hear and learn about their experiences to date and how our skills can deliver for the people that we serve.

I enjoy spending time with my family, walking our dog Hank and going to the beach. I occasionally play hockey although my body can’t always do what my brain tells it to!

James is a member of the Chartford Housing Limited Board.
