I wanted to join the Board as a demonstration that I am interested in engaging with and making a difference to the community at a leadership level. As a Director, I wanted use the skills and expertise I have acquired and develop leadership skills and further expand my expertise.
I have an excellent knowledge and experience of Health, Safety and Compliance within large property portfolios. Currently, I am Head of Building Safety working for a housing provider with in excess of twenty thousand properties. I have a track record of success in a complex technical area, translating vision into a deliverable programme within a challenging and dynamic environment.
Dedicated to ensuring compliance with all relevant aspects of Health and Safety legislation and Building Regulations and sector specific guidance, I also provide strategic direction relating to buildings, taking into full consideration recommendations in the revised Building Regulatory regime. I became a Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health in 2005 when it was introduced.
I wanted to take the next step in my career as a Director applying the skills and experience in social housing and wider in the NHS and construction in the role of a Director within social housing. It has been my goal to provide the strategic direction and leadership required with the specialist knowledge in Health, Safety & Compliance and to assist landlords in the provision of suitable, safe and sustainable homes.
Away from the Board, I am a struggling golfer who enjoys playing whenever I have any spare time. I like going on holidays to places that I have not visited before and enjoying a walk with the dog on a route that usually involves a pub and a log fire.
