Board profile: Carlene Goodearl

I have worked in the housing development section for 12 + years, and have delivered award winning residential schemes. I predominately have a background in older person’s homes, whether that be supported, social rent or outright sale.
Being involved in the whole journey of a scheme, from buying the land to welcoming residents, I have understood the need for customers, and how small design tweaks can make massive differences to how they use the space.

I love everything Horton stands for. The values align with my personal values. After witnessing what an incredible job Horton’s operational teams do, I knew I wanted to be part of strategically leading the business. I am excited about Horton’s growth ambitions, and their person-centred, trauma-informed services.

I have a passion for ensuring that everyone resides in a safe and quality home. I bring direct experience into the design and delivery of homes, and the asset management of a portfolio. I have a legal background and have many years advising executive teams on risk and development finances, so am keen to advise Horton on ensuring we provide safe, compliant and quality homes.

Outside of work I have a busy family life, I have a dog (Bailey) who I love walking on the seafront, I like to go to the gym, socialise and supporting the local community.

Being on the board will help me in understanding operational challenges, having a deeper appreciation for operational and customer focused colleagues.
