Are you looking for a new challenge? The Horton Housing Group have an exciting opportunity for people to join our Horton Housing Association and our Chartford Housing Limited boards. The positions are voluntary and you do not need to have previous board experience.
We are keen to hear from people who have strong links to the diverse communities we serve, and we particularly welcome applications from people from an ethnic minority background, young people and those with lived experience or personal insight into the challenges faced by the people we work with.
As a board member, you will be involved in influencing the organisation to ensure that we successfully manage the challenges and changes required to grow and develop.
We need people who share our vision and values and are passionate about the work we do. You should be able to demonstrate good interpersonal skills, the ability to think independently, and constructively challenge while making balanced and informed decisions.
Each board has four board meetings per year plus a business planning day. In addition we hold a joint board away day once a year, providing the opportunity for both boards to come together. We have three group committees reporting into the boards, that board members have the opportunity to join, these are; Audit & Risk, Asset Management & Development and Policy & Resources.
We welcome applications from across the country, all board meetings are hybrid. However, we do expect board members to attend at least two of the four board meetings in person. The business planning days and joint board meetings are held in person. The committee meetings are via Teams.
