Becoming a board member of Horton Housing Association provides me with an opportunity to contribute to the community, influence strategic decisions, and help address housing challenges. It allows me to use my skills for positive impact, contribute to policy development, and make a difference in housing provision and support services.
Being a board member can offer personal benefits such as gaining valuable leadership experience, expanding your professional network, and enhancing your strategic decision-making skills. It provides a sense of fulfilment by actively contributing to community welfare and addressing societal issues like housing. Additionally, serving on a board can enhance your understanding of governance, finance, and organisational management.
For me, Horton ticked all the boxes and supported my three values.
- Shelter
- Food
- Equality of access & help
I’ve found that I’m among some amazing people and I’ve learned a lot.
As well as being on the Board at Horton Housing, I am also an active member of:
