What is supported accommodation?

A living room with a center table.

Supported accommodation means that we provide somewhere for you to live alongside support to help you manage a tenancy. Support is provided by support workers employed by Horton Housing.

You will be sharing your home with other young people. You will have your own bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, kitchenette and a shared larger kitchen, living space with Netflix and a garden.

We have house rules and routines to ensure that we all live together peacefully and keep each other safe. We aim to provide a calm and welcoming environment where you feel safe and comfortable.

There will be at least one member of staff at the accommodation at all times.

When you first come to our accommodation your support worker will explain the house rules and the support agreement, which we will ask you and your support worker to sign.

Together you will draw up a support plan which outlines what you want to achieve while you live with us and how you want to achieve it. We can help you with issues such as money, health, and accessing education or employment.

Living in supported accommodation will help you move into longer-term independent living when you turn 18.
