Bradford Respite Intermediate Care Support Service (BRICSS) is a home from hospital scheme for people who are homeless or living in unsuitable accommodation and are being discharged from hospital.

Run in partnership with Bevan Healthcare, the scheme provides short-term, temporary accommodation for people who need support with health and housing after leaving hospital. It helps to reduce ‘bed blocking’ in local hospitals.

We have 13 en-suite rooms with communal facilities as well as four self-contained flats with wheelchair accessible facilities.

A ‘Pathway’ team is based in hospitals to identify clients who may benefit from the care offered by BRICSS.

The service was a finalist in the UK Housing Awards in 2015 in the ‘Meeting Specialist Housing Needscategory.

BRICSS also won a Community Impact Award in 2015 in the ‘Health and Wellbeing’ category.

The service is staffed 24/7.

Referrals can be made through the Pathways Team, based at Bradford Royal Infirmary.
