Wellbeing Café Volunteers
We are looking for volunteers at our newly launched Wellbeing Cafés in the Selby District. The cafés are aimed at adults over the age of 18 who have mental health issues or concerns, and their family members and carers.
Our volunteers will help to create a safe and welcoming environment as they assist with the delivery of the café sessions. The role includes setting up the room, making refreshments, meeting and greeting, assisting with group workshops and offering peer mentor support to café visitors.

NewStart Calderdale Volunteer
Horton Housing’s NewStart Calderdale team support clients who are over the age of 18 and are ex-offenders or are at risk of offending. The service supports clients to secure and sustain a tenancy, provide ongoing support to enable them to resettle effectively and reduce the likelihood of re-offending.
We are looking for someone who is friendly and enthusiastic to assist with the delivery of client focused support, administration and general tasks. In return we pay out of pocket expenses and provide a full induction and training along with a supervisor.

We are looking for a volunteer who can assist with our family-centred English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes every Wednesday and Thursday 9.30am to 12.30pm, based in Bradford. The volunteer will be responsible for setting up and closing the classroom with the ESOL tutor, along with looking after any children who attend while their parents learn English.
You do not need any formal qualifications for this role and full training will be given. We will require a DBS to be completed. This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in childcare or someone who has lots of patience and a few hours to spare on a weekly basis.
ETE Support Assistant Volunteer
We are looking for a volunteer who can assist STEP (the Specialist Training and Employment Programme) to deliver employability training and to assist as an interpreter for low-level ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) clients during assessments. This role is based in Kirklees.
The role also includes the need to follow safeguarding processes if and when needed.
The tasks are varied, ranging from: interpreting during assessments, shadowing the ETE worker in daily tasks, ICT support, support with job searches and interview practice.
We are looking for someone who speaks Syrian Arabic, has Entry 2 or above in English, can work under their own initative and has an understanding of the barriers faced by the client group.
