Water Street is long-term accommodation with an intensive housing management service. The service has 15 self-contained single occupancy properties in Huddersfield. A manager is on site throughout the day (Monday to Friday 9am 5pm). For security purposes evening/night staff are on site.
Water Street will respond to immediate and long-term accommodation needs. Water Street does not provide support itself, but will work in partnership with statutory and voluntary agencies, to ensure a comprehensive package of support is being offered if required. The service maintains an open referral procedure to ensure access for people from marginalised groups. There is an expectation that people applying for the service are already engaging in or will engage with support agencies.
Length of stay is dependent upon tenants need to be accommodated in premises delivering Intensive Housing Management Services. Tenants wishing to move on to independent living are assisted to do so via their individual tenancy management plan.
Our aims are:
To provide high quality housing for people who are vulnerable and in housing need.
To maintain tenants engagement with treatment, supervisory and support agencies.
To enable tenants wishing to move on to establish and maintain an independent and positive lifestyle.
